James Beser, YouTube’s Youth Director of Product Management, revealed that the company is implementing an artificial intelligence (AI) system designed to detect if a user is underage, even if their profile states an older age. Beser highlighted that similar models have already been tested in other regions with positive results. If the AI determines that a user is under the age of 18, YouTube will notify them and ask for verification through methods such as a credit card, a selfie, or a government-issued ID.
