FG Names Prof Mathew Adamu as New Acting VC of UniAbuja
New Leadership at the University of Abuja The Federal Government has appointed Professor Mathew Adamu as the new Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, which is now known as Yakubu Gowon University. This decision marks a significant shift in leadership following the previous appointment of Professor Patricia Manko Lar, who served for six months in an acting capacity starting in February 2025. Professor Adamu will assume his role on Monday, 11 August 2025, and will serve for a period of three months.
