Wattala Kite Festival at Pamunugama Beach

A Celebration of Creativity and Culture Sri Lanka recently witnessed a vibrant celebration of creativity and cultural heritage at the Wattala Kite Festival, held at the Pamunugama Sarakku Kanda Beach. The event took place on Saturday, September 30, and was graced by the presence of Industries, Science and Technology Minister Professor Chrishantha Abeysekera as the Chief Guest. The festival featured two distinct categories: the Children's Open for participants aged 6 to 16, and the Adult Open for those 16 years and older. Each category encouraged participants to showcase their artistic talents through unique kite designs. Prizes were awarded for various categories, including the most creative kite, the largest kite, and the smallest kite, highlighting the diversity and imagination of the participants. His journey to Vietnam started three years ago as a tourist, but after returning to Canada, he found himself longing for the experiences he had in the country.
