Gentari, a Malaysia-based company, has taken a significant step in the renewable energy sector by conducting a groundbreaking ceremony for its Maryvale Solar and Energy Storage project located in New South Wales, Australia. The hybrid renewable energy facility is designed to incorporate 243 megawatt-peak (MWp) of solar installation along with a 172 megawatt (MW) / 409 megawatt-hour battery energy storage system. Once fully operational, this project will be capable of delivering up to 172 MW of dispatchable clean electricity. This amount of energy can power approximately 82,000 homes annually while also preventing around 615,000 tonnes of carbon emissions each year.

Maryvale is situated within the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone, an area recognized for its potential in renewable energy development. The project has secured a Long-Term Energy Service Agreement (LTESA), which offers financial stability through an energy price floor option. This agreement plays a crucial role in de-risking the project and facilitating access to financing, ensuring that the project can move forward with confidence.
