Samsung's Vision for the Future of Home Living

Samsung Electronics recently introduced its ambitious "AI (Artificial Intelligence) Home" vision, marking a significant step forward in the integration of artificial intelligence into everyday life. The company presented this groundbreaking concept during a press conference held on the 4th, just a day before Europe’s largest home appliance exhibition began.

At the event, Samsung outlined four core experiences that define its AI Home: "Ease," focusing on simplicity and convenience; "Care," emphasizing health and safety for individuals and families; "Save," targeting time and energy efficiency; and "Secure," ensuring robust security. Kim Chulgi, Vice President of the DA Business Division responsible for home appliances, expressed confidence in the future of AI technology, stating, "Within the next three years, 1 billion AI devices will spread to homes worldwide. Samsung’s AI Home experience will become part of customers’ daily lives at an unprecedented speed."

The AI Home concept is centered around "Ambient AI," which aims to understand and adapt to user environments—such as temperature, lighting, sound, and movement—as well as behavioral patterns. This approach enables real-time, personalized experiences that seamlessly integrate into daily routines.

Users can check weather forecasts and schedules through their smartphones, while the system automatically adjusts air conditioners and lighting based on individual habits. The AI Home also includes features like "Family Care," which alerts users to unusual signs in family members living apart, and "Pet Care," which monitors pets when homes are unoccupied. Samsung highlighted that through these innovations, refrigerators can save up to 15% energy, washing machines up to 70%, and air conditioners up to 30%.

Security is another key focus of the AI Home. Samsung’s Knox solution currently protects personal information across 1 billion Galaxy mobile devices, Bespoke AI appliances, and Vision AI TVs, reinforcing the company's commitment to safeguarding user data.

New Products with AI Integration

Samsung also unveiled several new products equipped with AI technology. A new robot vacuum cleaner is set for release in the second half of this year. It features a "Steam Clean Station" that sterilizes mop surfaces by 99.999% using high-temperature steam from water boiled to 100 degrees Celsius. This innovation promises to revolutionize home cleaning.

Another notable product is a new induction cooktop with a built-in hood designed to absorb odors and smoke generated during cooking. This feature enhances the kitchen experience by maintaining a clean and fresh environment.

Innovative Display Products

In addition to appliances, Samsung introduced various display products. The newly released ‘Micro RGB TV’ is a 115-inch large-screen model featuring an RGB color backlight. This TV uses RGB LEDs arranged in ultra-fine units of 100 micrometers (μm) or less, offering an exceptional visual experience.

Samsung also showcased "The MovingStyle," a wireless mobile screen, and the "Sound Tower," a speaker with a built-in 18-hour battery, wheels, and handle for enhanced portability. These products highlight Samsung's commitment to creating versatile and user-friendly solutions.

A Future of Convenience and Safety

Vice President Kim emphasized Samsung's dedication to turning the “AI Home” into reality. He stated, "Samsung Electronics is turning the ‘AI Home’—which understands users and automatically adapts to them—into reality. In the ‘AI Home’ completed with Samsung’s innovative products and AI technology, you can now experience a future where life is easy, convenient, and safe."
