He emphasized that the university will be graduating its first cohort of students from the Nursing Science and Medical Laboratory Science programs.

This milestone marks a significant step forward for Wellspring University, showcasing its growing influence and expanding capabilities in the field of Health Sciences. The graduation of these pioneer students reflects the institution's commitment to excellence and its role in shaping future leaders in the medical sector.

A Week of Celebrations and Activities

The convocation week promises to be a vibrant and engaging event, with a variety of activities planned to celebrate the achievements of the graduates. These include:

  • A keep fit exercise for staff and students

In addition, the university will host musical concerts by the school choir, a thanksgiving service, and an alumni lecture and dinner. These events are designed to foster a sense of community and provide a platform for celebrating academic success.

Honorary Degrees and Key Speakers

On the day of the convocation, three distinguished Nigerians will be conferred with honorary doctorate degrees. Among them is the Chancellor of the university, Itua Ighodalo. Dr. Bruno Udoka will deliver the convocation lecture, offering insights and inspiration to the graduating class.

Prof. Ajayi highlighted that the convocation represents another significant milestone in the university’s journey toward fulfilling its mandate of producing well-rounded and future-ready graduates. He emphasized the importance of intellectual depth, leadership qualities, entrepreneurial initiative, and godly character in shaping the next generation of professionals.

Academic Excellence and Gender Equality

The convocation will see the graduation of 228 candidates, including 150 first-degree holders, 78 postgraduate diploma and master’s degree recipients. The distribution of first-class honors among the graduands is as follows:

  • 11 students with First Class Honours

The remaining students are categorized in other divisions. Prof. Ajayi announced that Miss Eboigbodin Sonia Uwaila, a student from the Department of Computing in the computer science program, emerged as the Best Graduating Student with a CGPA of 4.96.

This year's achievement is particularly notable as it marks the first time a female student has claimed the title of Best Graduating Student, following last year's win by a male student. This shift underscores the healthy academic competition between genders at Wellspring University.
