CA Project Hosts Constitutional Literacy Quiz at Redeemer School

A Successful Constitutional Literacy Quiz in Accra
The CA Project, in collaboration with its partners, successfully held a Constitutional Literacy Quiz at the Redeemer Preparatory and JHS in Pig Farm, Accra. The event was organized in partnership with the National Centre for Civic Education (NCCE), Alicia Global, and the National Alliance of Ghana Law Students. It took place on October 8, 2025, and brought together students, teachers, volunteers, and civic educators who facilitated an engaging and inspiring competition among the participants.
The primary goal of the event was to deepen the students’ understanding of Ghana’s 1992 Constitution and promote civic education among young learners. Additionally, it served as an opportunity to assess and evaluate The CA Project’s Constitutional Literacy awareness program across the country.
The atmosphere was filled with excitement as students demonstrated impressive knowledge of constitutional principles, including their rights, the role of the NCCE, sources of law in Ghana, the role of Parliament, and the responsibilities of citizens. After the contest, the Obeng Dapaah House emerged as the overall winner and was awarded a cash prize of GH¢1,000 for their exceptional performance.
Importance of Constitutional Literacy
Speaking after the program, the founder and director of The CA Foundation, Celestine Addo, emphasized the importance of nurturing constitutional literacy from a young age. She stated that this foundation would be crucial for responsible citizenship and encourage active democratic participation. Addo said, “If we hope to have responsible citizens in the near future who will be committed, fully participate in governance, and uphold the good principles of democratic governance in Ghana, then these young ones should be our darling.”
Mr. Mawuli Agbenu, the Director for NCCE for the Greater Accra Region, expressed his joy at the progress made by the students. He noted that within a short period of time, the CA Project had started its activities by adopting Redeemer Preparatory & JHS to conduct Constitutional Literacy education and donate the 1992 Constitutions to the school. He was happy to see how the children had studied and gained full knowledge about their rights and what the Constitution is. He also called upon donors and sponsors to support this initiative as part of their corporate social responsibility.
The CA Project: Educating Young Minds
The CA Project is a flagship programme of The CA Foundation, aimed at educating young people in schools about the basic law of the land—the Constitution. This is done by donating the 1992 Constitution of Ghana to schools, ensuring that students have access to read and understand their basic rights and responsibilities as Ghanaians.
The project is implemented through partnerships, sponsorships, and volunteering from legal professionals and law students across Ghana. It seeks to expand its reach and invites sponsors and partners to join the cause. The CA Project’s Constitutional Literacy Quiz was proudly sponsored by a group of dedicated legal professionals and law students, who are committed to civic education, sustaining the project, and making meaningful impact in communities.
Acknowledging Support and Looking Ahead
The CA Project would like to extend its appreciation to all partners, sponsors, and volunteers for their unwavering support in advancing civic education across the country. Their contributions have been instrumental in promoting constitutional literacy and empowering the youth with knowledge that will shape their future as informed and active citizens.
As the project continues to grow, it aims to inspire more students, educators, and communities to engage with the Constitution and understand the significance of civic education in building a democratic society. Through such initiatives, the CA Project is paving the way for a more informed and empowered generation of Ghanaians.
