Hong Kong Police Disrupt Prostitution Ring Involving Underage Girls
Hong Kong police have successfully dismantled a local prostitution syndicate that exploited underage girls. The operation, which took place between October 13 and 17, involved two major anti-vice operations that led to the arrest of 58 individuals.

Operation Targets Underage Girls and Illegal Employment
During one of the operations, two girls aged 14 and 15 were discovered, marking a significant breakthrough in the case. Another operation targeted a bar suspected of illegally employing foreign hostesses.
The arrested individuals included seven men and 51 women, ranging in age from 16 to 54. Among them, 23 were allegedly involved in the prostitution ring.
According to Kowloon West Chief Inspector Yim Wan-ha, the syndicate recruited young girls through online social platforms and at places where adolescents often gather. “Members of the syndicate pretend to be underage girls and make posts on social media to attract potential clients to message them,” Yim explained during a press briefing. “Then the members arrange the interaction. Since the girls are underage, members let customers book a hotel room and then assign a girl to their room. The group take 40 per cent per transaction.”
Each interaction reportedly cost between HK$3,000 and HK$10,000 per session.
Hotel Raid Unveils Extent of Criminal Activities
A critical part of the operation was a raid on a Tsim Sha Tsui hotel last Thursday, conducted in collaboration with the Immigration Department. This raid resulted in the arrest of 14 women from the Chinese mainland on suspicion of breaching their conditions of stay.
Three core members of the ring were also arrested, including an 18-year-old woman suspected to be the ringleader. Two 16-year-old girls were arrested on suspicion of “living on earnings of prostitution of others” and “causing prostitution.”

Additional Arrests and Seizures
Two 29-year-old men were arrested near the hotel on suspicion of “living on earnings of prostitution of others.” Meanwhile, four clients—aged 32 to 43—were arrested on suspicion of “unlawful sexual intercourse with a girl under 16 years of age.”
Police also seized a large number of condoms, disposable blankets, bottles of mouthwash, and lubricant stored at a warehouse near the hotel.
Bar Raid Exposes Illegal Employment Practices
Separately, police raided a bar on Cameron Road in Tsim Sha Tsui last Wednesday. The bar was suspected of employing foreign hostesses. According to Kowloon West Senior Inspector Lau Siu-lung, investigations revealed that when customers arrived at the bar, staff arranged for foreign ladies to be chosen by them. These women entered Hong Kong via travel visas and engaged in bodily contact with customers, receiving a fee of HK$500 per hour along with tips.
Thirty Thai women, aged 24 to 42, were arrested on suspicion of breaching their stay conditions. One man and three women, aged 36 to 54, were also arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to employ someone who is not lawfully employable.
Additionally, a 36-year-old foreign woman with a Hong Kong Identity Card was arrested on suspicion of assisting the Thai women to work in Hong Kong without approval.
During the operation, police seized evidence such as cash, dice, and dice cups.
