KPop Hunters Drive GS25 and Everland Triumphs

The Rise of KPop Demon Hunters and Its Impact on the Market

The global popularity of Netflix’s animated series KPop Demon Hunters has sparked a significant surge in the entertainment and consumer goods industries. From themed merchandise to immersive experiences, the show has become a cultural phenomenon that is reshaping how fans engage with media.

GS25 Launches KPop Demon Hunters Meal Kits with Record Sales

One of the most notable collaborations linked to the show is with the convenience store chain GS25. On the 1st, the company announced that its five KPop Demon Hunters-themed ready-to-eat meal products had surpassed 800,000 units in cumulative sales within just two weeks of their release. These meal kits, which include items like Tuna Mayo & Jeonju Bibimbap Half-and-Half Gimbap, Jeonju Bibimbap & Jeyuk (Pork Belly) Couple Rice Balls, and a Mixed Street Food Set, were launched sequentially starting from the 17th of last month.

The packaging features iconic characters from the show, such as ‘HUNTR/X’ and ‘Saja Boys,’ and includes 42 types of random seals to enhance the collectible appeal. On the first day alone, 50,000 units were sold, with all five products ranking first in their respective categories.

Foreign tourists were the primary buyers of these meal kits. To cater to this audience, GS25 designated four stores near Incheon Airport and Insadong—areas with high foreign visitor traffic—as specialized KPop Demon Hunters stores. These locations were redesigned to match the show’s theme, resulting in a 63.7% increase in sales of the meal kits during the three days following the launch (September 24–26) compared to the same days before the launch (September 17–19).

Everland Introduces KPop Demon Hunters Themed Zone

Another major attraction linked to the show is Everland, operated by Samsung C&T’s resort division. The park opened its KPop Demon Hunters themed zone in collaboration with Netflix on the 26th of last month, and it has already attracted over 10,000 visitors within five days.

The themed zone is designed around the show’s characters and universe. At the ‘HUNTR/X’ experience zone, visitors can play a shooting game that recreates a scene where characters Rumi, Mira, and Joy eliminate evil spirits on a plane, or a whack-a-mole game where they smash hammers to defeat spirits escaping from a portal. The ‘Golden Performance Photo Zone’ allows guests to take photos against a golden ring backdrop, emulating Rumi’s style.

At the ‘Saja Boys’ experience zone, visitors can listen to the OST ‘Soda Pop’ and match lyrics in order, or play ‘Soul Sacrifice,’ a game where they roll and place balls within a time limit. A ‘Your Idol Performance Photo Zone’ is also available.

Nearby restaurants operate under the concept of ‘Saja Boys’ Favorite Street Food Spot,’ selling ramen and gimbap featured in the show. Additionally, a merchandise store and a large Derpy statue have become popular attractions. A source from Samsung C&T stated, “Embroidered hats featuring the Derpy character sold out in the initial batch, and additional orders are being processed. With the Chuseok holiday approaching, we expect continued visitor interest.”

Conclusion

The success of KPop Demon Hunters extends far beyond the screen. From convenience store meal kits to immersive theme park experiences, the show has created a unique ecosystem that continues to captivate audiences worldwide. As more collaborations emerge, it’s clear that KPop Demon Hunters is not just a hit—it’s a cultural movement.
