LadySam hosts empowering webinar on women's advancement through media, tech, economy, and culture

A Webinar on Women's Empowerment Unites Diverse Voices

On Friday, September 27th at 11:00 a.m. (GMT), LadySam, a women’s empowerment strategist and founder of SHIMEI Solutions, hosted a compelling webinar titled "Advancing Women Through Media, Technology, Economic Growth, and Cultural Diplomacy." This 90-minute virtual event brought together influential figures from various sectors to engage in meaningful dialogue about the practical steps required to achieve sustainable empowerment for women.

In her opening remarks, LadySam emphasized the critical need for representation at the highest levels of society. She stated, “As women make up almost 50% of the population, they need to represent 50% of leadership – in government, the military, and every other sphere of influence.” Her words set the tone for a discussion that would explore multiple dimensions of women's empowerment.

Insights from Industry Leaders

The session featured contributions from several industry leaders, each offering unique perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing women today. From the digital innovation sector, Claude, CEO of Kowri, highlighted how fintech can empower women entrepreneurs. He noted, “Digital payment tools are a game changer for women entrepreneurs: they make daily transactions safer and build a financial footprint.”

Ernest Boateng, CEO of Global Media Alliance, added a crucial perspective on inclusion, stating, “Empowering women in leadership is not charity – it’s justice and a growth strategy.” His comments underscored the necessity of gender equality as a fundamental principle rather than an optional gesture.

From the legal standpoint, Tai-Ann Fadayomi, CEO of Banks and Partners Solicitors, reminded participants of women's rights. She emphasized, “Women have the right to equal pay, equal treatment, and the freedom to start a family without fear of penalty.” Her insights served as a reminder of the ongoing struggle for legal equity.

Professor Lord Mawuko Yevugah, a political economist and convener of IRDN Ghana, addressed cultural barriers that hinder women's progress. He stressed, “Shedding light on harmful cultural practices is the first step to eliminating them.” His contribution highlighted the importance of cultural awareness in driving change.

Sonia Ibrahim, an actress and licensed therapist, closed the session with a powerful message on mental health. She insisted, “Confidentiality and safe support systems are the backbone of real mental health advocacy.” Her remarks emphasized the need for holistic approaches to women's well-being.

A Call for Unity and Collaboration

Throughout the webinar, LadySam consistently reinforced the idea that progress requires collective effort. She concluded by saying, “Collaboration is key! Together we can turn empowerment into sustainable progress.” Her closing remarks encapsulated the central theme of the session: empowerment is multi-dimensional, encompassing technology, media, leadership, law, culture, and wellbeing.

Participants left the session inspired and engaged, expressing their appreciation for the practical and thought-provoking nature of the discussions. LadySam also hinted at future initiatives, stating, “This is just the beginning. Expect more transformative webinars and initiatives. Empowerment is not an event – it’s a movement.”
