What It's Truly Like to Cruise on the World's Cheapest Voyage

A Unique Experience on the World’s Cheapest Cruise

A cruise expert has shared her firsthand account of staying on one of the world's most affordable cruises, offering a glimpse into what it's really like to embark on a luxury journey without the hefty price tag. For just £99, Jenni Fielding, known as 'Cruise Mummy' on social media, experienced a luxurious stay that doesn’t break the bank.

Jenni took her trip aboard Cunard’s new Queen Anne ship and documented her adventure in a YouTube video. In the clip, she expressed her surprise at finding a luxury cruise on the brand-new vessel for such an affordable price. "A luxury cruise, five-star service... for the price of a cheap hotel room? I had to give it a go!" she said.

She questioned whether this budget-friendly sailing would feel like a dream come true or if she would feel out of place among Cunard’s famously posh traditions. Her journey took her from Hamburg to Southampton, and she shared her experiences throughout the trip.

In the video, Jenni highlighted that booking a £99 cruise includes two nights, all meals, and entertainment—something she described as cheaper than one night in a Premier Inn. After waiting an hour and a half in the check-in queue, she finally boarded the ship. She started with a stop at the buffet and a quick tour of her cabin.

"I love it, it's so nice," she said. "It's an inside cabin, which means no balcony, no windows, but that's alright." She showed off the large TV, bed, desk area, and the brochures and information she received.

"If you want to get fresh flowers in your room, you can," she explained before taking viewers around the rest of the cabin. Jenni noted that the cabin was actually pretty spacious. She also mentioned that everyone received free sparkling wine, along with a kettle and biscuits. The minibar, though tempting, wasn't as overpriced as she expected. The spacious wardrobes and well-stocked bathroom were additional highlights.

As she explored the ship, Jenni pointed out various areas, including a mini putting green, a glamorous pool area, and a dining room that offered all the amenities of a luxury holiday. However, her main meal was on the small side. She described a nut roast as "the smallest main course I've ever seen." It came with half a roast potato, a teaspoon of mashed potato, and half a plate of cabbage.

The buffet closed between 9pm and 11pm, which meant she had to wait to eat again even though she was hungry. She watched a comedian in the evening and ordered room service, enjoying breakfast in bed before using the cruise gym.

Jenni concluded her experience by reflecting on whether Cunard was right for her. "Unfortunately no, I love the lunches but for dinner for a week personally I would struggle. If you're a meat and two veg person, you'll love it." She praised the ship's beauty and elegance but emphasized that the main takeaway was the value of a short, affordable cruise. "It's so worth it—especially if you're the sort of person who's go, go, go all the time and you just want to chill out for a couple of days."

Key Highlights of the Cruise Experience
