AFRIMA Unveils 9th Edition Diamond Showcase for Emerging African Talent
The All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) has officially launched the application process for its 9th Edition Diamond Showcase. This prestigious platform is designed to spotlight Africa’s most promising emerging music talents, offering them a unique opportunity to gain global recognition.
In a recent press statement, AFRIMA announced that the Diamond Showcase portal is now open, inviting singers, rappers, DJs, producers, and instrumentalists from across the continent to submit their entries. The initiative aims to provide undiscovered artists with a rare chance to showcase their talent to a worldwide audience, helping them take a significant step toward mainstream success.
Janatte Haddadi, AFRIMA’s Regional Manager for Northern Africa, emphasized the importance of the platform for young creatives ready to elevate their careers. She highlighted that many talented African artists often go unnoticed within their communities despite their exceptional potential. The Diamond Showcase seeks to bridge this gap by offering visibility, mentorship, and access to industry professionals.
Haddadi revealed that the application period will run from November 18 to December 8, 2025. She encouraged interested artists to apply early through the official portal at afrima.org/Diamond-Showcase or via AFRIMA’s Instagram page.
Application Process and Selection Criteria
Applicants are required to upload a 45-second performance video. Following this, the AFRIMA Jury will shortlist the top 15 finalists, known as “The Diamonds.” These selected artists will be invited to Lagos for the live Showcase, scheduled for January 6–7, 2026. Performances will take place each evening from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
The chosen artists will enjoy an all-expense-paid trip to Lagos, exclusive AFRIMA merchandise, mentorship sessions, and the opportunity to perform before high-profile music executives, media houses, and influential industry leaders.
“We want to find the brightest diamonds in the rough across Africa,” Haddadi said. “If you believe in your gift, this is the time to act. Don’t wait. Don’t hold back. Submit your entry. Africa is ready to meet its next big talents.”
