Chaeyoung Halts Activities After Vasovagal Episode

Chaeyoung's Temporary Hiatus Due to Health Reasons

Chaeyoung, a member of the popular K-pop group TWICE, has made the difficult decision to temporarily step back from her activities due to health concerns. This announcement comes after a thorough evaluation by medical professionals, highlighting the importance of prioritizing her well-being.

Medical Diagnosis and Recovery Plan

According to the agency, JYP Entertainment, Chaeyoung was recently diagnosed with vasovagal syncope, a condition that can cause fainting due to a sudden drop in heart rate and blood pressure. Following consultations with medical experts and comprehensive examinations, it was determined that she needs more time to recover fully. As a result, Chaeyoung has chosen to take a break from her professional commitments to focus on treatment, stabilization, and adequate rest.

The agency shared, “Chaeyoung is currently aiming for full recovery and to regain her condition by the end of the year. Given the priority of her health, she will participate minimally or unavoidably refrain from upcoming schedules.”

Impact on Upcoming Schedules

This hiatus will affect several of Chaeyoung’s planned activities. She will not be able to join the World Tour concerts scheduled in Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, and Bangkok. Chaeyoung expressed deep regret over this situation and once again apologized to her fans for her inability to participate in fan events and the World Tour since late October.

Agency's Statement and Support

JYP Entertainment also issued an apology to fans for any concern this news may have caused. The agency emphasized its commitment to supporting Chaeyoung as she works towards a full recovery. They requested continued support and encouragement from fans to help her return to the stage in good health.

Chaeyoung's Career and Achievements

Chaeyoung first gained recognition as a member of TWICE, which debuted in 2015. This year marks the group's 10th anniversary, a significant milestone in their career. In September, Chaeyoung released a solo album and received widespread acclaim for her performance of the OST "Take Down" from the Netflix animated film Kpop Demon Hunters. She collaborated with members Jeongyeon and Jihyo on this project, further showcasing her versatility as an artist.

Looking Ahead

As Chaeyoung focuses on her health, fans and supporters are encouraged to remain patient and continue showing their love and support. Her dedication to her well-being reflects her commitment to both her personal health and her future performances. The agency has pledged to keep fans informed about her progress and any updates regarding her return to the stage.

With her talent and determination, there is hope that Chaeyoung will soon be back in full force, ready to entertain and inspire her fans once again. The K-pop community remains united in wishing her a swift and successful recovery.
