Cosmax Honored with CES Innovation Award for All-in-One Beauty Device

Cosmax Wins Innovation Award at CES 2026 for Groundbreaking Personalized Skincare Device

Global cosmetics ODM (original design manufacturer) company Cosmax has once again made waves in the beauty industry by winning an innovation award at CES 2026, the world’s largest consumer electronics trade show. This marks the second time that Cosmax has received such recognition, following its previous win in 2023.

The award was given in the beauty tech category for a revolutionary product called maXpace. This device is designed to produce skincare products, foundation, and liquid lipstick all from a single unit. It represents a significant leap forward in personalized beauty technology.

Collaboration Between Industry and Academia

maXpace was developed in partnership with Professor Kim Ho-young from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Seoul National University. The collaboration took place through the ‘SNU-COSMAX TIC’ center, which was established by Cosmax and Seoul National University to focus on developing next-generation beauty and health technologies.

This joint research effort has led to the creation of a device that goes beyond traditional limitations. Unlike existing devices that are restricted to producing a single formulation, maXpace can combine various textures and colors. It allows for real-time processing, starting from skin and preference diagnosis up to the manufacturing stage.

Sustainable and Efficient Production

A representative from Cosmax explained the benefits of this innovative approach: “By producing only the required amount on demand, we expect to reduce unnecessary production and inventory, as well as minimize packaging materials and waste.” This not only addresses environmental concerns but also enhances efficiency in the production process.

Expanding Experiential Retail Opportunities

Cosmax plans to introduce the maXpace device in experiential stores, including pop-up stores, through its client companies. Another official from the company stated, “To align with the accelerating era of customized cosmetics, we developed this new device to enhance consumer familiarity and design differentiated experiences for each client.”

This move is expected to create unique and engaging shopping experiences for consumers, allowing them to interact directly with the technology and see the customization process in action.

Future Implications for the Beauty Industry

The introduction of maXpace signals a shift towards more personalized and sustainable beauty solutions. As consumer demand for tailored products continues to grow, innovations like maXpace could become a standard in the industry.

With its ability to produce multiple types of beauty products in one go, maXpace sets a new benchmark for what is possible in the field of beauty technology. It not only meets the needs of modern consumers but also addresses broader environmental and operational challenges faced by the industry.
