HiteJinro Grants Scholarships to Vietnamese Students for Sixth Year
HiteJinro Expands Educational Support in Vietnam
HiteJinro, a leading South Korean beverage company, recently held a scholarship award ceremony at Hanoi National University of Foreign Studies in Vietnam. The event took place on the 13th and was attended by key figures from both the company and the university, including HiteJinro CEO Kim In-gyu.
During the ceremony, HiteJinro awarded a total of 400 million Vietnamese dong (approximately 25 million Korean won) to 20 students. Each recipient received 20 million Vietnamese dong as part of the company’s ongoing scholarship program. This marks the sixth consecutive year that HiteJinro has organized this initiative, which began in 2017.
The company’s continued investment in education reflects its deep commitment to Vietnam, a market that holds significant importance for HiteJinro. As the first soju export destination for the company, Vietnam has been a strategic focus since HiteJinro established its first Southeast Asian overseas subsidiary in 2016. This move marked the company’s full-scale entry into the Vietnamese market.
Over the years, HiteJinro has become a major player in the soju industry within Vietnam. As of last year, approximately 60% of soju exports from South Korea to Vietnam were HiteJinro products. This strong presence highlights the company’s success in building brand recognition and consumer loyalty in the region.
In addition to its growing market share, HiteJinro is also expanding its physical footprint in Vietnam. The company is currently constructing its first overseas production plant in the Green I Park Industrial Complex in Hung Yen Province. This new facility is expected to further strengthen HiteJinro’s position in the Vietnamese market and support its long-term growth strategy.
