Lotte Unveils 800-Pyeong European Christmas Market in Seoul
A European-Style Christmas Market at Lotte Department Store
Lotte Department Store is set to open a European-style Christmas market that spans 800 pyeong. The event, named the ‘Lotte Town Christmas Market,’ will be held at the World Park Plaza of Lotte World Tower in Jamsil, Songpa-gu, Seoul, starting on the 20th and running for 46 days until January 4th of next year.
The first weekend batch of ‘Fast Pass’ entry reservations, which were available on the 10th, sold out in just 10 minutes. This highlights the immense popularity of the event among visitors.

The Christmas market will operate daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. during the operating period. A total of 51 booths have been set up, offering a wide range of Christmas-related products, food, and beverages, as well as experiential stores. Entry is free before 4:00 p.m., but after that time, paid entry tickets must be purchased. The ‘Fast Pass’ allows quick access without waiting and costs 10,000 Korean won. It also includes a 5,000 Korean won market discount coupon and one glass of mulled wine. General entry tickets after 4:00 p.m. cost 5,000 Korean won and include one photo print exchange ticket.
Attractions and Activities
Various Christmas facilities have been installed throughout the market. These include a 13-meter-tall giant Christmas tree, the ‘Snow Shower’ that sprays artificial snow five times a day, and a two-story carousel that can accommodate up to 30 people at once. There is also a ‘Wish Wall’ where visitors can write their wishes and a Fujifilm photo booth for taking pictures.
Several stores will also operate at the market. Lotte Wellfood is running the ‘Gana Chocolate House’ at the market for the first time this year. Olive Young is operating an experiential pop-up booth for the snack brand ‘Delight Project’.

The winter food booths have expanded by 20% compared to last year. Centered around a giant tent dining hall, 26 booths will sell European and Korean winter snacks. These include ‘Mills,’ a popular hot dog restaurant in Seongsu-dong operated by a chef from the renowned premium dining establishment ‘Mosu,’ offering ‘Guru Guru Sausage’; ‘Sam Sam Sam,’ a popular restaurant in Yongridan-gil, serving ‘Tteokbokki with Mashed Potatoes’; and ‘Berkshire K Tteokgalbi,’ prepared on-site by a top chef from Lotte Hotel. There are also events giving away candy canes and shopping baskets based on purchase amounts at the market and the main food hall of the Jamsil branch.
Gift Shops and Special Features
Christmas gift shops, including ‘Wooderfullife,’ famous for wooden music boxes, and ‘Hansi,’ which showcases vintage-style tableware, have set up 16 booths. Also operating are ‘Present Moment,’ a well-known Christmas-themed multi-brand store in Mangwon-dong; designer brand ‘Finca’; and figure specialty stores ‘Pop Mart’ and ‘LEGO’ booths.
For the first time this year, Lotte Department Store is operating a ‘Private Lounge’ at the market. Visitors can spend 70 minutes in either the ‘Christmas Cabin’ or the ‘Winter Sunroom,’ both offering panoramic views of the Christmas market. Operating a total of seven times a day, divided into daytime (before 4:00 p.m., 160,000 Korean won) and nighttime (after 4:00 p.m., 200,000 Korean won) sessions, reservations can be made through the Naver reservation system. Moët & Chandon champagne and Aniv cake are also provided.
