Gilbert Cheruiyot called for political interference in school management to be considered when declaring areas as hardship zones. "Political interference in running of schools should be listed as one of the parameters for declaring an area as hardship zone!" he wrote.

Munanga Lisungu Jr. condemned those responsible for Shange's death, stating, "We condemned whoever snatched the life of Mwalimu, Mungu shughulika naye." Immaculate Mamake Victory expressed her shock, writing, "mbona kuua tu mtu ona vile jamii yake ingali youngbado watoi walikuwa ndo wamefika mahali pakuhita daddyinauma."
