Trump and Musk reunite in Beano's pages

A Unique Look at 2025 in the Beano

For the past 87 years, the Beano has been a haven for eccentric characters and wild adventures. It seems only fitting that two of the most controversial figures in recent times—Donald Trump and Elon Musk—have found their way into a special edition of this beloved comic.

In the latest issue titled Beanofy Unwrapped, these real-life personalities are reimagined as “Beanofied” versions. The story follows a scenario where Trump takes control of Beanotown and embarks on a space adventure with Musk and other famous faces. Meanwhile, the regular Beano characters, such as Dennis, Minnie, and the Bash Street Kids, must come up with a plan to save the day.

Mike Stirling, the director of mischief at the Dundee-based comic, shared his thoughts: “All the bad, sad or boring bits (of 2025) are banished.” This approach reflects the comic’s long-standing tradition of blending humor with a touch of satire, offering readers a lighthearted take on current events.

The Beano continues to hold the title of the world’s longest-running weekly comic, celebrating an impressive 85 years of publication last year. This milestone underscores its enduring appeal and cultural significance.

This edition also features a range of other notable figures from the world of sports and entertainment. Euro-winning Lioness Chloe Kelly, Chelsea star Cole Palmer, England goalkeeper Hannah Hampton, and darts sensation Luke Littler all make appearances. Their inclusion highlights the comic’s ability to capture the essence of pop culture and bring it to life in a fun and imaginative way.

Another highlight is a fictional Battle of the Bands featuring Oasis, Taylor Swift, and Coldplay—three of 2025’s most popular touring acts. The storyline takes a humorous turn when Hollywood comedian Jack Black finds himself caught in the middle of a chaotic popcorn-throwing spectacle inspired by the viral Minecraft movie.

The comic also showcases caricatures of various celebrities, including Alan Carr and Cat Burns from The Celebrity Traitors, Katy Perry dressed for a Blue Origin mission, and the Wicked stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande pondering whether they’re “holding space” for anyone else on the moon.

The front cover of this week’s edition brings together a mix of 2025’s most iconic pop-culture figures. It features President Trump, K-Pop Demon Hunters, Alan Carr, the viral “Italian brainrot” trend, and England rugby star Hannah Botterman. The cover is a testament to the comic’s ability to blend humor with contemporary references.
