Billionaire Orphan Founder Zhang Junjie to Wed Trina Solar Heiress This Month

Zhang Junjie, the billionaire founder of the Chinese milk tea chain Chagee, is set to marry Gao Haichun, the only daughter of the founding family of Trina Solar. The wedding reception will take place on December 15, marking a significant event in the lives of two young business leaders.

The celebration is scheduled to occur at the Zhongwu Hotel in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, according to reports. Both Zhang and Gao are part of China’s emerging generation of successful entrepreneurs.

Gao, who graduated from Brown University, has earned the nickname "Solar Goddess" among Chinese netizens due to her striking appearance and her background in the solar energy industry. She currently holds an executive position at Trina Solar, a solar-panel manufacturer that is listed on both the New York and Shanghai stock exchanges.

Zhang, who was born into poverty in Yunnan, China, became an orphan at the age of 10. Despite these early challenges, he founded Chagee in 2017. The company made its debut on the Nasdaq in April, and the subsequent stock surge significantly increased his estimated net worth to $2.1 billion, as reported by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

The couple reportedly met at a networking event for young entrepreneurs and officially registered their marriage in June. Their relationship has drawn considerable attention, given their prominent positions in the business world.

In the past year, there were rumors suggesting that Zhang had married the daughter of a tycoon and had a child. These claims were vehemently denied by Zhang in a social media post on November 21, where he stated that they were false. He emphasized the importance of speaking out publicly to protect his wife and family from any potential defamation.

"I feel it’s essential to speak out openly," he wrote. "I want to clarify that I have never been married before meeting Haichun. I aim to protect my wife and family from any defamation stemming from this rumor."

The allegations led to a court order in Shanghai, which required the individual responsible for spreading the rumors to issue a public apology to Zhang earlier this year. This incident highlights the challenges faced by high-profile individuals in maintaining their personal privacy and reputation in the digital age.
