Introduction to E-Marking System in Sindh

The Sindh government has taken a significant step towards modernizing the educational landscape by introducing an e-marking system across all educational institutions in the province. This initiative aims to reduce errors in the assessment of students' examination papers and enhance the overall transparency of the evaluation process. The e-marking system was officially launched during the 183rd two-day meeting, which was organized in collaboration with the Inter-Boards Coordination Commission (IBCC) and the Sindh Boards Committee of Chairmen (SBCC).

Vision for a Digital Examination System

Provincial Minister for Universities and Boards, Ismail Rahoo, inaugurated the e-marking system and emphasized the importance of aligning the examination system with modern requirements. He stated that the goal is to create a transparent, reliable, and fully digital system that ensures quality education for every child. Rahoo highlighted that the implementation of e-marking in Sindh's education boards has already been successful, and plans are in place to expand the system to other boards by next year.

Addressing Key Challenges

Rahoo also mentioned that the government is taking all possible steps to make examination results more transparent and to address issues such as paper leaks and plagiarism. He noted that improving the examination system is a collective responsibility and expressed satisfaction that all boards are united in this effort. Additionally, the minister vowed to take action against a professor from Shah Abdul Latif University who has been absent continuously.

Administrative Developments

Regarding staff appointments at the university's Khairpur campus, Rahoo mentioned that the relevant court order would be implemented. He also announced that efforts are underway to make the Karachi University research centre autonomous, with all stakeholders being consulted. Furthermore, the appointments of permanent examination controllers and secretaries in Sindh boards are expected to be finalized soon.

Launch of E-Challan System in Hyderabad

In another development, Hyderabad district has officially launched the E-Challan (E-Ticketing) system to enforce traffic rules more effectively. According to a police spokesperson, the initiative began at the Rahoki Toll Plaza, making Hyderabad the second district after Karachi to adopt this system. Citizens have been advised to follow traffic laws and practice responsible driving to avoid inconvenience and unnecessary fines. The police have also indicated that the E-Ticketing system will soon be expanded to other areas within the Hyderabad district. They have urged the public to cooperate with the department in this new initiative.
