British Porn Star Deported from Bali After Minor Fine

Deportation of British Adult Film Star from Bali
Bonnie Blue, a controversial British adult film star, has been deported from Indonesia’s Bali island following a series of legal issues. The deportation was confirmed by an immigration official, who stated that the process would take place early Saturday morning. Blue, whose real name is Tia Billinger, was previously fined for traffic violations, which added to the complexity of her case.
The situation escalated when local police conducted a raid on a studio in Badung, a popular tourist district near Denpasar, the capital of Bali. During this operation, Blue, who is 26 years old, was detained along with three men – two Britons and an Australian. These individuals were taken into custody on suspicion of producing pornographic content. However, authorities later reported that no evidence of adult material was found during the raid.
Husnan Handano, a spokesman for the immigration department at Denpasar International Airport, informed AFP that Blue’s deportation would occur early Saturday. He mentioned that her flight would be scheduled at 12:30 a.m., which corresponds to 1630 GMT on Friday. More details about the process are expected to be released in the coming days.
Earlier on December 11, Billinger and her associate, 27-year-old Liam Andrew Jackson, were fined 200,000 rupiah (approximately $15) for violating traffic regulations. A judge from the Denpasar District Court, I Ketut Somanasa, noted that the defendants had committed the offense jointly and continuously.
The incident took place after a raid on December 4, during which police seized a dark blue pickup truck labeled "Bang Bus." The British tabloid Daily Mail reported on December 10 that the vehicle appeared to have been untaxed since 2023 and had allegedly been illegally repainted from white to blue without re-registration.
Billinger’s lawyer, Edward Pangkahila, assured AFP that his clients would cooperate fully with the authorities. He also suggested that they should apologize to the people of Bali if their actions caused any public unease.
Bali, known for its predominantly Hindu culture and as a destination for millions of foreign visitors, is part of Muslim-majority Indonesia. The country strictly prohibits the production of pornographic material, with penalties including up to 12 years in prison and a fine of US$360,000.
Billinger gained notoriety for her provocative stunts as an adult content creator. Her case highlights the ongoing tensions between foreign tourists and local authorities in Bali. This situation comes amid renewed complaints from Balinese officials regarding unruly foreign tourists. In recent years, several Russian influencers have been expelled for posing nude at sacred sites, indicating a growing concern over such behavior.
As the situation continues to unfold, it underscores the challenges faced by both local authorities and international visitors in maintaining the cultural and legal standards of the region. The deportation of Bonnie Blue serves as a reminder of the strict laws governing the production and distribution of adult content in Indonesia, emphasizing the need for compliance with local regulations.
